Smith Westerns Premiere “Die With Your Chin Up”

If you haven’t picked up Dye It Blonde by the Smith Westerns, you’re missing out on one of the best records that’s come out this year. I keep forgetting how good it is until it comes up randomly on my iTunes. If I hear one song, I gotta listen to the whole thing.

Anyways, they just put out a short film about the making of the album. It’s interesting. It tells how the three of them reacted to getting signed by a major label and recording the record in a studio. They list their music  inspirations and even give Oasis a shout out (these dudes just keep getting points in my book).  They realized that if this album wasn’t phenomenal, they would get dropped. Luckily, they made a kick ass album that’s getting the recognition it deserves. It’ll be interesting to see where they go from here, but I can’t wait to see.

Check out the video below. They’re hitting the road again later this month. If they roll through your town, check them out. They put on a great show.
