The Growlers Premiere “Gay Thoughts” Music Video, Gear Up For the End of the World in Nashville

The Growlers are gonna be nuking this site for the next couple of weeks. After releasing their badass new single “Gay Thoughts” a month ago, they decided to release the video for it today. It’s awesome. It looks like a grindhouse movie mixed with bits of old Spanish themes. There’s the occasional drag queen or two dudes dancing together, but that’s expected with a song called “Gay Thoughts.” I reviewed the song a bit ago, but basically, it’s pretty good. It’s another reason people should be listening to this band.

Gay Thoughts – The Growlers

The Growlers are on tour and burning towns down across America. They’re stopping in Nashville for the End of the World party on May 21st at the End. It’s gonna be one hell of a party and we’re gonna be there to kick off things right. Here’s the description I wrote for the event and a link to it on FB. Check it out and the other videos I posted for the Growlers.

According to some, the world is gonna end on May 21st, 2011. It’s gonna be fire and brimstone, kids. The apocalyptic horsemen are stopping in. Planes are gonna fall out of the sky, missiles are gonna launch themselves and the dead are gonna get up and start walking around. Everyone who isn’t home, locked up, praying to Allah, Buddah, Jesus or Oprah is gonna be incinerated. So what are you doing that night?Fuck all of that noise. We want to die doing what we love: drinking beer and listening to bad ass music. Luckily, LA band the Growlers are coming to town to help us all go out with a bang. They plan on showing these extremists the true meaning of the word sac-religious through their washed away melodies and desert island riffs. Known for their crazy antics (off and on stage), these dudes will exorcise your demons………..and then invite them to the party. Seriously, we have no idea what to expect, and that scares us a bit….

Joining the band are locals, Bad Cop, Majestico and Mom & Dad. Bad Cop is one of the heaviest bands around in Nashville. Their energy and catchy riffs are contagious and sure to make heads turn. Their uncompromising attitudes on stage make them hard to ignore. Majestico is another badass band from Nashville. Judging by their songs, these dudes love drinking whiskey and making your girlfriend dance to their rock n roll energy. They know how to have a good time. Joining us from the Boro are Mom & Dad. Don’t let their band name fool you into thinking that they’re gonna put you to bed early. Their set is just gonna be the starter for your insane night. Nashville may be in the Bible Belt, but us fun-loving heathens are taking it back tonight.

So you can stay at home, buy into the hype and pray for our souls. Or you can come out and join us for what is sure to be one of the most chaotic and fun parties of the year. Shit’s gonna get all sorts of weird and cool tonight. If this offends you, stay home.
