Mudhoney Readying to Put Out “I’m Now”

Wow, I’m literally eating my own words right now. One post after I say that all of this year’s band documentaries have been lame, another one comes along that makes Conan O’Brien’s deal look like shit. I’m talking about grunge-pioneers (but don’t call them that to their face) Mudhoney.

The movie is titled “I’m Now,” after one of their best songs off of 2008’s The Lucky Ones. For those who don’t know, Mudhoney is a band that’s raw riffs and love of Superfuzz and Bigmuff guitar pedals helped inspire a bunch of  grunge bands like Nirvana. They were one of the biggest bands in Seattle, and helped jump start the grunge scene. But like the Screaming Trees, they never made it as big as the big three (Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden). The teaser is only like 15 seconds of footage, but it looks like its going to be pretty cool.

No release date has been announced, but it should be out by the end of the year. I guess they’ll be announcing that through the movie’s site and twitter account. If you haven’t heard Mudhoney yet, check out the videos below.
