Noel Gallagher Officially Goes Solo

It’s no secret that I love Oasis. I’m probably one of the fifteen people in America that care about them and probably one of the only people in this city that is eagerly awaiting Noel Gallagher (the smarter and more talented of the Gallagher brothers) to announce his solo album. Well, after months of speculation, today, Noel made it official: his solo album is coming out soon and it’s going to make Beady Eye (Liam Gallagher’s new band) look retarded.

The first of two albums (that’s right, Noel is releasing two records!) is called Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds and will be released October 17th on his own label, Sour Mash Records. It was co-produced by David Sardy (who has worked with Oasis before) and it will have ten songs as follows:

1. Everybody’s On The Run
2. Dream On
3. If I Had A Gun…
4. The Death Of You And Me
5. (I Wanna Live In A Dream In My) Record Machine
6. AKA… What A Life!
7. Soldier Boys And Jesus Freaks
8. AKA… Broken Arrow
9. (Stranded On) The Wrong Beach
10. Stop The Clocks

STOKED! He’s still got “Stop the Clocks”, “Record Machine” and “Everybody’s on the Run” on there. Those were awesome Oasis songs that never got released because Liam wouldn’t record vocals or something stupid. Hey Liam, you snooze you lose cause Noel is about to make you look REALLY dumb.

As if this wasn’t enough, Noel also announced that he is releasing ANOTHER album in 2012. It’s a collaboration between him and the psychedelic-loving Amorphous Androgynous. If you follow Oasis, you might remember that those dudes did a 20 plus minute remix of the Oasis tune “Falling Down.” I can’t wait to see how trippy that shit is going to be.

Noel also took the opportunity to announce that he is going to be touring this fall to support the album. Hey Noel, COME BACK TO NASHVILLE! Seriously, I don’t care if I have to roadtrip to Atlanta.  I missed Oasis, I’ll skip out on Beady Eye, but I won’t miss this. It’ll be worth it.

So there you have it. The wheels are turning more and more and now we have solid information. A video of the press conference is going to be made available soon, so check back in a bit for that. For more info, check out his official site below. If you’re still not excited, check out some of the demos of the songs below. This is going to be incredible. Are ya mad fer it?

I don’t even have to make fun of anything here. You did it all by yourself.
