Jesse ‘The Devil’ Hughes Takes Boots Electric To Europe

Back in May, the rumors that Eagles of Death Metal frontman Jesse “The Devil” Hughes was doing a solo record were confirmed. While confirming a September 19th release date, he also released a weird new single “Boots Electric Theme” for free. After that, the camp was pretty quiet for the month of June. But it seems like the wheels are turning again as Hughes just dropped more information on the album as well as tour dates.

The album, Honkey Kong, was produced by Beck and Depeche Mode collaborator Tony Hoffer and co-written with Money Mark, the keyboard player who works with the Beastie Boys a lot. The album has been described as a mix of”glam-pop, keyboard heavy dance grooves, and Hughes’ signature brand of rock ‘n’ roll grit that drips with swagger.” Sounds pretty cool.

Hughes announced a couple of dates as well. He’s only got one US date so far, but hopefully he hits the US with a badass tour after he gets done wrecking Europe. Jesse knows how to party. Check out the dates below. You can grab the new song below as well.
