The Raconteurs Reunite for Shows, Possibly New Album

After being put on the back burner for 2 years so Jack White can produce a billion records, the wheels are turning again over in the Raconteurs and the band is hitting up a few festivals this fall.

The band has only announced 3 dates so far, but neither Jack White or Brendan Benson have revealed if more dates or an album is coming. You know how those eccentrics are. They like to keep everything in the dark until the last minute. Hell, they announced the last record three weeks before they released it, so who knows? It can literally happen over night with any band that White’s in. It’s pretty cool though. Also, with Benson putting his solo thing on hold now and Jack Lawrence & Patrick Keeler wrapping up their lukewarm stuff with the Greenhornes, a new album seems like a strong possibility.

I dig the Dead Weather and all, but I had my fill of their stuff after a while. I’m ready to see Jack White shredding guitar again. I’m ready to see him shred so hard that he bleeds.

Yeah, he did that with Wanda Jackson for a bit (which was awesome as well), but I want to see him be a frontman again. Plus, he’s got a better drummer and a band behind him now. It’s time to get the band back together and do cool stuff. Tour dates are listed as well as a couple of videos. Check em out and keep your eyes open. I think this is just the beginning.
