PUJOL Gives Away “Mayday”, More Details on “Nasty, Brutish, and Short”

With less than a month to go before his Saddle Creek debut drops, one of Nashville’s smartest musicians, PUJOL, is leaking out more information on the release. A couple of days ago, we got the official cover art for Nasty, Brutish and Short. The fact that Sean Landis is on the cover (he was in my spanish class freshman year of high school) is one of those things that is so strange, it’s fucking awesome. Today, we got a tracklisting, preorder options and a free song.

For the price of an email address, Saddle Creek is giving away “Mayday” as a free download. If you’ve seen PUJOL play live in the past year or so, you’ve probably heard the track (I think it was called “The Ballad of Richard Houston” at one point as well). It’s got a catchy punk riff with Pujol going on about “wearing that crown all over town/like you’re the king of may.” Trust me, it’ll get stuck your head. Pujol’s very good at that.

The EP drops October 4th. According to Saddle Creek’s site, $6 will get you a download, $7 will get you a CD and $11 will get you a colored 10″ vinyl. Shit, I don’t even have a record player, but I might have to go with option C. You can grab “Mayday” below as well as the tracklisting and the usual couple of videos. Don’t sleep on it, kids.
