PUJOL Releases “Psychic Pain”

We’re weeks away from PUJOL dropping his first LP on Saddle Creek Records, United States of Being and as more tracks make their way onto the internet, we’re getting more and more stoked to hear the finished product. I forgot to mention this last month because I was probably passed out in a ditch somewhere, but on Record Store Day, PUJOL put out a new single from the album, “Reverse Vampire” and finally revealed the track listing for the LP. If you haven’t heard or seen either yet, you can check them out below.

Tracklisting

2. MISSION FROM GOD

3. PROVIDENCE

4. KEEPER Of ATLANTIS

10. EACH And EVERYDAY

A lot of familiar tracks on this one, but that’s never bad thing when they’re good.  Definitely want to see how the new version of “Endless Mike” sounds, since that was one of the first tracks of PUJOL’s I really dug. Anyways, a day or two ago, PUJOL released the final track of the album, “Psychic Pain,” for our listening pleasure via Soundcloud. Apparently, this version was recorded on a laptop for the Record Store Day release, but I fucking dig it regardless. PUJOL is known for playing fast and smart, but it’s cool to see how with slow songs like this, the content is still potent. Ignoring the parameters of punk that all of the so-called “punks” in this city follow, PUJOL shows he’s more than the rest by being able to slow down a song and highlight that he has some REAL songwriting qualities. He knows how to piece together melodies and lyrics, whether playing 1000 miles an hour or 10 under the speed limit. You can check out what the hell I’m talking about below. Can’t wait to hear the studio version of it. The United States of Being is out June 5th. Be sure to pick this one up.
