Ty Segall on Conan, Tours for Life

If you were like me and living under a rock Tuesday night, you probably missed out on Ty Segall’s late night debut on Conan. I try to watch Conan when I can but I guess I screwed the pooch on that one. But then again, besides cheating on homework and looking at porn, isn’t that what the internet’s for? Exactly. And now, thanks to this thing called Youtube, you and I won’t have to miss a beat. And with that, here’s Ty Segall performing “Thank God for the Sinners” on one of our favorite ginger’s show.

Thank God For the Sinners – Ty Segall

What a fucking show! Even a malfunctioning guitar strap can’t stop Ty from delivering riff after riff. It reminds me of his last Nashville show. The dude went on at about 1 AM and even though everyone was ready for bed because there had been too many bands on beforehand (less Ex-Cult, Gnarwhal and D. Watusi next time), he brought the energy that kept us hanging on. The song is off of his latest album (and 50th he’s put out this year) Twins. It’s another shit-kicker and makes us wonder if it is even possible for Ty Segall to write a bad song (we’ll excuse that Brian Eno cover of “Needle in the Camel’s Eye” because A. that’s a cover and B. it wasn’t all his fault)? If you get the chance, pick it up.

To reiterate, Ty really hates free time. While the rest of us are sitting on the couch and burning rope, he’s working. He’s got an extensive tour coming up and will once again be stopping through Nashville in January. Tour schedule is below along with the awesome video for “The Hill.” Check it.
