Tame Impala Releases “Feels Like We Only Go Backwards” Video

Saying a band like Tame Impala does acid is redundant. It’s like saying Cypress Hill smokes weed or that Stevie Nicks likes taking cocaine up her ass. It’s just nothing that needs to be stated over and over again. However, the band must have felt the need to make the obvious even more obvious. They made a video recently that makes any of my recent trips look shitty (yet they were kind of shitty considering I had no idea that I was about to trip….but that’s another story for another time). If you couldn’t pick out the obvious again, the song is called “Feels Like We Only Go Backwards” and its trippy, mane.

Feels Like We Only Go Backwards – Tame Impala

Honestly, the track isn’t one of my favorites off of their recent album, Lonerism (which is fucking ace, if you haven’t picked it up yet), but its definitely makes for an interesting watch as the band goes all Aldous Huxley on us. It’s like combining the old Saturday morning cartoons with a ten-strip. Cool as fuck and as hypnotic as the drugs themselves.

The band is currently wrapping up their North American tour and doesn’t seem to like Tennessee, cause they haven’t scheduled a stop. C’mon dudes. Even I used to hate this place until recently. We’ve gotten better. Scouts honor. Anyways, if you’re in one of those damn foreign countries, they’ll probably show up on you doorstep sometime soon. If you still haven’t picked up the new album, quit shitting the bed and get on that shit. If you need more convincing (which you shouldn’t because my word on music is fucking law of the land), then check out some of their other tunes below.

    Hey Jordan,

I’m always on the look-out for new music blogs to follow and I found yours by searching Tame Impala. I normally don’t link people to my posts as I feel like it always seems a bit wanky, but if you’re interested, I interviewed Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker for a magazine here in Australia and I’m really keen for people to see it who genuinely like the band.

I haven’t even seen them live (I know, I’m a bad Australian) but they’re coming here in December and I couldn’t be more stoked! Hopefully this album will have them doing more expansive worldwide tours and getting out to Tennessee.

Here’s my post if you’re at all interested: http://emilycswanson.wordpress.com/2012/11/17/tame-impala-all-by-myself/
