Sound City Soundtrack Looks Killer

Alright, so about a week ago, something weird happened. Paul McCartney jammed with the surviving members of Nirvana and Pat Smear (he wasn’t really in Nirvana cause he didn’t write any songs with the band) on a song during the 12.12.12 concert. Basically, they made a move that should have given Courtney Love a well-deserved heart attack (didn’t happen, but she was pretty pissed).

It’s gotten acclaim, but I just thought it was weird. It didn’t help that they kept billing it as a Nirvana reunion with Paul McCartney. The idea of McCartney doing a Nirvana cover always pops in your head and it can send shivers down your spine. However, good news followed as it turns out that the track is supposed to be the first of many to be on the soundtrack to Dave Grohl’s new documentary, Sound City. I talked about the documentary over a week ago, but since then, more details have emerged. First, it will available on the web on February 1st of next year to download for about $12.99 on the film’s website. Second, it’s gonna have a killer soundtrack. The tracklist is listed below, but it features the likes of Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Stevie Nicks, Queens of the Stone Age, Trent Reznor and more. Can’t wait for that fucker to leak. You can hear a studio cut of the track “Cut Me Some Slack” below. Check it:
