Mini Mansions Debuts Two New Songs, Tours with The Arctic Monkeys

Picture 37It’s been almost a year since we’ve heard anything from new from Mini Mansions. This is probably due to band drummer/vocalist Michael Shuman putting in his work with Queens of the Stone Age as they gear up to release their new album (which I just got yesterday and rules even more than I expected) and tour a bunch. However, before it gets too pre-occupied with a tour that I can only imagine embodies the very term “rock ‘n’ roll fantasy camp” (the cool one, not the lame one with Tommy Lee), Mini Mansions is planning a brief run with the Arctic Monkeys on their short US tour. Thanks for skipping Tennessee again, you English bastards. Just kidding. With all the other tour dates they’ve booked, I’m sure the Monkeys are putting out a new album soon and more tour dates should follow that. Anyways, the band stopped in at some place called The HoC Palm Spring 2013. No idea what that is, but they were cool enough to let Mini Mansions put on a live performance and they even captured 2 new songs on video so they can’t be that bad. Below, the band rips through a new song called “Fiona” and a cover of Sparks’s “Sherlocks Holmes.” Both are growers compared to their older material but the former is definitely the cooler of the two. Check them out and the tour dates below those.
