The Icarus Line Premiere “Marathon Man”

If you read my review from a bit ago, you’ll know that the Icarus Line are gearing up to put out one hell of an album in a couple of days (July 22nd to be exact). Compared to the rest of their music, I’d say it’s their best since Penance Soiree and that’s a hell of an album as well. Until earlier, the only way to hear snippets of the songs was to watch the teaser trailers for the album (see below). However, the band has since released a full song for our listening pleasure and it’s one of my favorites off the new album. In “Marathon Man”, we hear the band’s take on Rowland S. Howard and Spiritualized; the band struts and curses through a the song with a misanthropic attitude but without the will to slow down. This catches up to them though, as the song at some point turns into what I can only describe as a sonic car crash. Afterwards, the band emerges from the wreckage and keeps going. Fucking great. Check out the song and the teasers below. Slave Vows is out July 22nd. Don’t miss it.
