Fuck Nashville’s Dead

I’ve always had a certain distaste for Nashville’s Dead. It’s not like that’s not obvious. I’ve said a lot of bad things about them and the bands that they trophy, but I’ve tried not to hate them. I’ve tried to give them a chance and move past their elitist attitude and just enjoy the very small fraction of good music that they promote. However, at some point, you’ve just gotta call a spade a spade. That point came when one of their constituents posted this.

Like for real? Are you kidding me? First off, ignoring the fact that it was impossible not to end up on stage at some point that night (like how most shows that involve Ty Segall usually end up being like), the fact that you want to claim the stage for yourself and your few friends….are you serious? You guys try to show off yourselves as non-pretentious pricks who are into it for “the young people” but you carry on this attitude that if you’re not a “Nashville’s Dead” team member, then tough titty? Fuck that pretentious bullshit. Yeah, it sucks having people be on stage in general, but you guys shouldn’t be excluded from this lot just because you’re taking pictures that no one really cares about.

In closing, I think the late great Chopper Reid spelled it best: HARDEN THE FUCK UP.

Hey dude, Julia Bee here, the one who posted that status. Just wanted to let you know that I did in fact openly apologize for that status, maybe you didn’t see that one or maybe you didn’t care. But I am genuinely sorry for coming off as an elitist asshole and in no way did I intend to represent my personal feelings as those of Nashville’s Dead as a whole. Were just tryin to spread good vibes and positivity all the time.

I saw and you’re right; I don’t really care. There are multiple reasons why a lot of people think you guys are cocky assholes and every once in a while, you guys slip up and prove us right. But whatever keeps the “young people” happy, I guess. Just try to be less obvious next time.
