WATCH: Bob Dylan’s Infamous Documentary “Eat the Document”

A lot of people were bummed to see Bob Dylan hocking Chryslers during the Super Bowl. I didn’t care too much, cause, well, he’s Bob Dylan. If there’s anyone who gets a free pass for doing jive shit, this man should have more “Get Out of Jail” cards than the rest. And even if you still have a bad taste in your mouth, this should easy the burn (though if it keeps burning afterwards, you might want to see a doctor about that).

It’s been a good while since I’ve seen this one. I’ve had a shitty bootleg stashed on my old computer that’s in storage, but after watching a couple minutes of this, I think this rip is vastly superior to what I have. Anyways, for those who don’t know, this documentary is highly coveted for any serious Bob Dylan fans. Filmed on Zimmy’s 1966 European tour, the film was shot by D.A. Pennebacker as he dropped in on various conversations and debauchery that accompanied said tour. It’s kinda like the Rolling Stones’s documentary¬†Cocksucker Blues in the sense that it shows a lot of behavior that I’m sure Zimmy isn’t keen on the public seeing. This includes: cocaine, extreme exhaustion, jamming with Johnny Cash, shooting heroin with John Lennon and riding around in a limo (the former part isn’t shown but has been confirmed by Lennon years later), and other behavior that only enforces the myth of Bob Dylan. Give it a watch for yourself below. It’s awesome and because awesome things like this don’t stay on the internet too long, I’d do it quick.
