Hiatus Shm-iatus: Thee Oh Sees Are Back!

Well, that didn’t take too long now, did it? When Thee Oh Sees announced that they were going on hiatus, everyone feared the worst. This is mainly because nowadays, hiatus doesn’t just mean a long break; it usually means the end of the band. So with that in mind, I figured we wouldn’t see Thee Oh Sees again until I was closer to 30 or something along those lines. Then again, I forgot this was Thee Oh Sees. They’re a band who has put out four full length albums in just four years, not to mention all the countless singles and EPs. In other words, this band does so much, I’m sure time is just a minuscule concept to them. In fact, I’m sure 54 days (the length of their break) seemed like 5 years to these fuckers, because they’ve just announced their fifth LP in the past four years, Drop.

Due out on April 29th on Castle Face Records, the overarching theme of the record is reported to be “an emphasis on the pensive and the paranoid.” It also promises to have the heaviest Oh Sees song yet, tentatively titled “Penetrating Eye.” Sounds dope. No music has been released yet, but I’m sure it’ll happen all in due time. If you can have just an ounce more patience than this band has, I’m sure we’ll all be just fine. If you haven’t, peep the cover art above. We’ll keep ya posted otherwise.
