Tonight’s Playlist: Revived

After some consideration, I’ve decided to revive this semi-weekly deal I used to do, even though I tapered off it a couple of years ago. It wasn’t so much that I didn’t dig it – I just got bored with the format. Also, doing mixtapes online is pretty pointless, isn’t it? What’s the point of listening to all these songs a stranger picks when you can skip around or just play the ones you know. I know; I’m guilty of this practice myself.

But recently, I’ve wanted some type of medium where I can showcase tracks that aren’t exactly new, but ones that I’m discovering/rediscovering at the moment and think you should too. So, for that reason, I’ve decided to start it up again. There’s no theme or any of that retarded shit, but rather, just a couple of tracks I think deserve more attention than what you’re probably not giving them right now. Maybe I’ll get some guests to do something similar in the future. We’ll play it by ear. Give some of them a listen below.

Born to Be Wild – Wilson Picket

Backspace Century – Deerhunter

Werewolves on Wheels (Main Theme) – Don Gere

Breaking Into Heaven – the Stone Roses

Brother and Sister – The Gun Club

Old World – the Modern Lovers

Bikini Girls With Machine Guns – The Cramps

1970 – the Stooges

Uncloudy Day – the Staple Singers

Warhead – UK Subs
