Watch Ty Segall’s Set At Coachella Featuring New Songs and a Brief Cameo from Blake of “Workaholics”

Screen shot 2014-04-14 at 7.07.28 PMThe 1st weekend of the California music festival Coachella has come and gone already.  I used to think I really wanted to go, but with the past two years of line ups being a bit lackluster, it looks like I’ll never face the day when I get to pay for high priced water and watch Arcade Fire, Mumford and Sons, or whatever other band the majority of white America feels comfortable listening to at the moment amongst a crowd of sun-scorched people.  Oh well. Either way,  as was the case last year (with Grinderman and Spiritualized), the best bands to see were usually the second or third tier bands, and luckily, the festival organizers have decided to broadcast as many acts as possible this year. One of the bands we get to see is Ty Segall. While his set was made up of my least favorite songs by him (from his thousandth band, the Ty Segall Band), the band ripped through the fuckers like rapid dogs attacking leftovers; on top of this, he did have a few additional gems in there, such as Blake from Workaholics trying to fill in on guitar and then crowd surf, a Motorhead cover, and 3 new songs in the set. Who knows what moniker these songs will be released under, but they sound pretty damn good to me. Peep the setlist and the set itself below. New songs start at 20:20 if you want to jump ahead.
