The Black Angels Drop Video For “An Occurrence at 4507 South Third Street”

If you’ve been following the Black Angels, you’ll know that they just put out a new EP titled, Clear Lake Forest (Blue Horizon). I haven’t picked it up yet, and I don’t know if I will since I haven’t really loved anything I’ve heard off of it. Don’t get me wrong, I still think they’re a great band and all, but I think I’ll wait till the next LP so I don’t get burnt out on their style. However, I did stumble across something interesting from them today.

The band has just premiered the video for their track “An Occurrence at 4507 South Third Street” (make that title a little longer, would ya?) and it’s dope enough to warrant a mention. The music is a bit of the same ole same ole, but the animation is what really drew me in. It’s like a cross between Fritz the Cat and Pink Floyd’s the Wall; it mimics late 70’s/early 80’s underground cartoons in that it’s grainy, crude, and yet, transfixing. Give it a watch below and see for yourself.
