Andrew Rinehart To Drop Double LP “Nothing/Everything”

In the past few months that I’ve been on a bender (i.e. working a shit ton and not really paying attention to this thing that much) there has been one song has been making its way onto every other playlist I’ve made. That song is “You Can’t Break My Heart (Pretty People Make Graves)” by Andrew Rinehart.  At first, I couldn’t explain why I dug it so much, but then I realized that whenever I felt somewhat low, the melody on it always picked me up. Combine this with the defiant yet catchy chorus line “you can’t break my heart because it’s already broken” and it quickly becomes an anthem for those who like the wrong girl and are gluttons for pain. Without getting too personal, this song has been a staple for me for a bit because it’s just so fucking good.

For a while, it was all I really needed from this band. I didn’t have much of an urge to seek out more stuff because this hell of a song sufficed. But then I began to dive more into them the other day when I heard that Buddyhead is going to be putting out their double LP later this year. I was surprised to hear that most of Rinehart’s other tunes are pretty acoustic. Hell, some of them have strings on them, which is the total opposite of what I expected. That’s not to say they’re bad – not at all. In fact, I’m digging the shit out of this slow burner “Nude Descending a Staircase.”

From what I can tell, the dude doesn’t like to be put in a box in regards to musical direction. I can respect that and can’t wait to hear the double LP, Nothing/Everything, when it drops later on. If you want to hear more, check them out on Soundcloud and BandCamp where you can download all of his songs so far.
